Hi and welcome!

Iā€™m Larissa and I am passionate about helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing to fully live the lives that they desire. I believe as humans we have a deep longing to be seen, heard, and understood and to be in connection with ourselves and others.

As a holistic counsellor I provide a safe space for you to share your struggles and explore new coping strategies to heal. I trust that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to guide you; to sit with you in the pain of the past or the struggles of the present, and to look to the future to help you create the change that you desire. I want you to succeed!

I have worked as a Social Worker and Counsellor for the past 18yrs in various settings including Mental Health Outreach, Health and Hospital Social Work, Family Support and Perinatal and Postnatal Mental Health. Over the years I have gained a wealth of knowledge about the human experience of trauma, pain and suffering. I have witnessed and supported many individuals in their desire and ability to heal from their past and change their future.

I offer assistance with:

  • Managing emotions, trauma and Stress; Increasing your window of tolerance

  • Mind -body integration; understanding and exploring the deep connection between thoughts, emotions and the body

  • Life transitions; navigating emerging adulthood ā€“ from adolescent to adult, Matrescence - Motherhood, becoming a parent, changes in work or life direction

  • Implementing practical tools and strategies for everyday life

  • Building resilience, self-confidence, and overcoming self-doubt

  • Calming your central nervous system during stressful situations

  • Implementing self-care strategies tailored to your needs

  • Skills to improve your communication and relationships

  • Finding joy and fulfillment in your everyday life

  • Setting and achieving goals for the future

My approach includes looking at your life holistically: mind, body heart and soul, as they are interconnected. I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic and Narrative Therapies to name just a few.

Away from work I enjoy hiking and walks in nature with my Husband and three very active and fun boys. I also spend a lot of time watching my boys play sport.

For me, I enjoy spending my free snippets of time in activities that support me to feel grounded and connected, time with friends and family, meditation and yoga. I love good coffee, almond croissants, and getting deeply engrossed in a fiction novel!
